What are my tax districts?
Our consolidated city-county government has two
tax districts: the General Services District (GSD) -- all of Davidson County
-- and the Urban Services District (USD), an area expanding outward from the
old Nashville city boundaries as urban services were expanded.

The GSD is the entire area -- yellow and green
-- and the USD is only the darker green area.
USD property owners pay the GSD tax rate, plus
the USD tax rate. The additional tax covers sidewalks, garbage collection
and street lighting not provided to the GSD area outside of the USD.
There are seven other tax districts within the
GSD: the cities of Goodlettsville, Lakewood, Berry Hill, Forest Hills, Oak
Hill, Belle Meade and Ridgetop. They are shown in other colors on the map
above.
Services provided by these cities vary; some
levy a property tax and some don’t.
Your assessment notice has a "Taxing District"
box which indicates whether you are just subject to GSD taxes or also pay
USD or a “satellite” city’s taxes.
